The private members club, which has almost 400 members from across the region, is set to receive a brand new bowling green as well as an upgrade to the front of the clubhouse and revamp of the function room.
The club provides facilities to play a range of sports including bowls, darts, poker, pool and snooker. It also has a function room with live entertainment every weekend and live dancing and bingo every week.
Morris is building one of Warrington's largest new housing developments on the former New World factory site off Thelwall Lane. The site, called Edgewater Park (www.morrishomes.co.uk/edgewater-park), will have almost 500 new homes, with a mix of one, two, three and four bedroom properties.
Mike Coker, regional managing director for Morris, said: "Whenever we start a project we always consider how our development will impact on the local area and how we can make a positive contribution.
"As our plans involved building onto the club's bowling green we wanted to ensure that this local facility was not lost. The brand new green and revamped clubhouse will give the club a boost and hopefully attract more people to enjoy the many facilities available."
