A great location....
St George's Park provides the perfect opportunity to enjoy the many and varied features and amenities that this 'new town', and the surrounding Shropshire countryside has to offer.
Within easy reach of St George's Park are all the facilities and amenities that make such a valuable contribution to creating a true community spirit. It is well served by local shops, post offices, play areas and local schools - all within walking distance.
For shopping....
Just a few minutes away by car or on the regular bus service, is Telford town centre. At its heart is the shopping centre, with over 140 shops all under one roof. Inside the shopping centre you'll find all the big national names along with jewellers, gift shops and independent boutiques. All this is provided with car parking which is open seven days a week.
Only a few minutes away from the shopping centre, but in complete contrast to it, are the 180 hectares of Telford Town Park. It combines all the leisure facilities you'd expect to find in a park close to town, but blends them with the informality and more 'natural' aspects of a country park.
For leisure activies...
Right alongside the Town Park is the famous Telford Ice Rink which, in every sense, is one of the coolest places to be, as besides skating, it hosts a wide variety of events - everything from ice hockey games to pop concerts.
Other sports and leisure facilities can be found in and around the area. Several outstanding golf courses, including Patshull Park and The Shropshire and Telford Golf and Country Club are in the area, as are a dry ski slope, an excellent athletics centre and four swimming pools.
Of a less strenuous nature, but just as enjoyable, are the more historic and rural attractions of the region. Ironbridge, recognised as one of the cradles of the industrial revolution, now features the Gorge Museum. Also nearby is the RAF Museum at Cosford, housing one of the largest aviation collections in the country.
And if fresh air and breathtaking views are the order of the day, you won't be disappointed. The Wrekin, the site of an Iron Age hill fort, gives a spectacular panorama of the surrounding countryside.
The Silkin Way is 14 miles of the most pleasant pedestrian and cycle paths. Wenlock Edge has plenty to offer both the casual and more serious walker, and people who just want to take in the view.
For commuting...
Driving to nearby towns and cities, such as Shrewsbury and Wolverhampton are well within an hour and there is a good rail service and excellent road links to Birmingham city centre thanks to the extensive network of first-class major local roads and the M54.
