Housebuilder Morris’ popular Upton Dene development has scooped a top industry award for the quality of its build.
The Upton Dene scheme, off Liverpool Road in Upton, has been awarded the title ‘Medium Development of the Year’ by judges at The Daily Telegraph British Homes BuildQuality Awards 2011.
The awards, now in their second year, recognise innovation and quality in homebuilding and are judged by an independent panel of established industry leaders.
The judges highlighted the development’s eco-credentials, the build excellence and the overall site management by the Morris team as the reason for selecting Upton Dene as the eventual winner.
Dave Hesson, regional managing director for Morris, said: “Winning this award ahead of such prestigious competition from across the UK is a huge achievement for Morris and shows our commitment to quality housebuilding.
“We’re extremely proud of our dedicated team at Upton Dene who have helped us develop a community of award winning homes.”
The accolade marks a successful award-winning year for the development. Upton Dene site manager Dave Williams won the National House Building Council’s (NHBC) Regional award and a Seal of Excellence at this year’s Pride in the Job Awards for his consistently high standards of site management and overall commitment to quality.
The Upton Dene development features a range of three, four and five bedroom homes. The development sits next to the Chester green belt and Countess of Chester Health Park and is designed to feel like a traditional English village.
Upton Dene offers part exchange scheme on family homes
Morris is offering an innovative part exchange scheme at Upton Dene. It gives homebuyers an easy way to trade up the property ladder without the hassle of having to find a buyer for their existing home.
The scheme involves Morris buying a homeowner’s existing property for 100% of its market value, so they do not have to deal with the process of selling the property. The scheme has further benefits as it also removes the costs of estate agent fees.
Chris Minshall, regional sales director for Morris, said: “Our part exchange scheme has proven popular in the past and is ideal for anyone who is struggling to sell their current home and is stuck in a chain as a result.
“Homebuyers shouldn’t have to wait months for their existing property to be sold when they can take advantage of schemes that can guarantee a buyer and eliminate stress from moving house.”
