Eco-friendly homes
As a responsible house builder, we’re committed to minimising our impact on the environment - through the homes we build and the way we build them. That’s why choosing a new home from Morris means making a positive choice for the environment.
Despite their traditional exteriors, our homes are constructed using the latest methods and materials to provide optimum energy efficiency and minimise CO2 emissions.
We are also introducing the latest renewable energy technologies, including solar panels and biomass heating systems, which use wood pellets to provide carbon neutral energy. All properties incorporate energy-efficient equipment as standard, including K-Glass, full cavity wall insulation and water-saving sanitary ware. Other measures range from cycle stores to drying rooms to recycling facilities.
Not only do these measures help customers limit their impact on the environment, they also significantly reduce running costs.
We also take our commitment to local eco-systems seriously and regularly invest to protect natural habitats and preserve natural features. Our projects have involved the relocation of rare bat species into specially built bat caves and full fish restocks of lakes.
Our overall commitment to the environment has been recognised by a major national awards programme, which has voted Morris ‘Green Housebuilder of the Year’. When commenting on this award win, Tim Smit, founder of The Eden Project, said that Morris had shown a ‘positive response to the green agenda’ by introducing sustainable features across all of its properties and developments.
