• The Taylors, Gadbury Fold

  

  Construction site manager Dean Taylor has given a whole new meaning to the phrase 'working from home' after buying a house on the development where he works. Dean and his wife Cheryl recently bought a four bedroom detached house at our Gadbury Fold scheme in Atherton near Wigan.

  Dean explained: "We had absolutely no intention of moving – our house wasn't even on the market – but one day I forgot my sandwiches and when Cheryl dropped them off she just fell in love with Gadbury Fold."

  "Because we chose a property that had already been built, things moved really quickly and we were settled in our new home after just six weeks."

  Cheryl added: "Although we loved our old house, we were a bit cramped and terribly overlooked. Now when I look out of the kitchen window all I can see is trees and the big entrance hallway makes the whole house feel light and airy."

• The Rambihars, Fulwood Park

  A Preston-based doctor has discovered the benefits of buying off-plan at our popular Fulwood Park development.

  Dr Brian Rambihar who lives with his wife and two children Helena and Sophie (aged 15 and 18) recently bought a detached family home at the development. And because Brian bought off-plan he was able to have a say in the design and finish of his new home – right down to the garden wall!

  Morris worked closely with Brian to make sure the house suited his family's needs – even adapting some of the original kitchen plans to incorporate a large five-burner hob and microwave.

  Dr Rambihar said: "Although the house we chose was the perfect fit for us, we were keen to add our own personal style. Because we bought off-plan much of the work could be done before we actually moved in – meaning we didn't have the hassle of having builders in."
