On the outskirts of the city you’ll find Chester Zoo, an award-winning zoological gardens that is ideal for a family day out. A short drive outside the city brings you within reach of the North Wales coastline and the sleepy villages and farm shops of rural Cheshire.
Transport
Chester train station is located on the outskirts of the city and provides a hub for travel to Manchester, Birmingham and the North Wales coastline towards Holyhead. The M53 is a short drive outside of the city walls and provides a route to Liverpool, while connecting to the M56 leads you to central Manchester. Both Liverpool and Manchester airports are a short drive from Chester city centre.
